Four Exciting Sega Titles Upgraded for Nintendo Switch 2

Introducing Four Exciting Sega Games Now Optimized for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 Launch

The wait is finally over — the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 has arrived! If you’ve been keeping up with gaming news, you already know about this next-gen console’s launch. However, what might be less obvious is that Sega has four fantastic titles coming to the platform, with three available right now and one scheduled for release shortly. These games showcase a diverse array of genres, offering something for every type of gamer.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut: The Crime Saga Comes to Life on Switch 2

One of the standout titles in Sega’s lineup is Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, an essential edition that introduces the origins of the beloved Yakuza series. Loaded with new content, this version is perfect for newcomers and longtime fans alike. It marks a strong entry in the Switch 2’s third-party launch lineup.

Set in vibrant 1988 Japan, players take on the roles of Kazuma Kiryu, a rising yakuza, and Goro Majima, an unpredictable ex-yakuza turned cabaret club manager. The game combines intense combat with a rich story filled with decadence, danger, and intrigue. Both characters boast three unique fighting styles, and players can switch between them seamlessly while utilizing the environment — turning street signs, bicycles, and traffic cones into effective weapons.

But Yakuza 0 isn’t just about fighting. When you need a break from brawling, explore the neon-lit streets of Japan, engaging in a variety of optional activities: over-the-top substories, karaoke and dance rhythm games, bowling, and even a retro Sega arcade. The Director’s Cut enhances the experience with English voice acting and over 25 minutes of new cutscenes, deepening your understanding of character backstories and key plot points.

Additionally, the game introduces Red Light Raid, an online mode where you team up with up to three friends to fend off waves of enemies and face a final boss while racing against the clock. As you succeed in raids, you earn money to upgrade and unlock new characters — totaling over 60, each with distinct stats. An online leaderboard tracks your achievements, encouraging friendly competition among friends.

Raidou Remastered: The Detective’s Demonic Adventure Debuts on Switch 2

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a beautifully reworked version of the 2006 action RPG from the Devil Summoner series, a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei. This title marks Raidou’s debut on a Nintendo console and offers a captivating detective story set in an alternate 1931 Tokyo, where the Taisho era persists.

The story kicks off with a mysterious schoolgirl asking Raidou to kill her, only for her to be kidnapped by armored soldiers before she can explain. Demonic activity is rising across the city, and Raidou must utilize his demon-summoning and fusion abilities to uncover a sinister conspiracy threatening Japan itself.

The remaster features over 120 demons, including new additions not found in the original game. These demons fight alongside Raidou and can also be used to manipulate the environment — reading minds, illuminating dark areas, freezing water, or flying over obstacles. The game’s visuals, audio, and performance have all received upgrades, with full voice acting for main characters, a revamped UI, and improved graphics.

The battle system has been overhauled for greater control, allowing players to maneuver the camera during fights, manage multiple demons simultaneously, and unlock new abilities for Raidou. The game also supports save-anywhere functionality, making it more accessible than ever.

Raidou Remastered launches on June 19 across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. At launch, five DLC packs will be available, along with a bundle containing all of them. Preorders include a special cosmetic item, Raidou Glasses. Additionally, players who sign up for a Sega Account can claim a free Survival Pack Light Gear, which includes items to help Raidou restore health and magic during battles.

Sonic x Shadow Generations: An Enhanced Classic Duo

Sonic x Shadow Generations is a dual-pack that combines the remastered versions of Sonic Generations and Shadow the Hedgehog’s adventure. IGN praised the original Sonic Generations with a 9/10, highlighting its creative level design, epic boss fights, and graphical enhancements. The Switch 2 upgrade takes these improvements further, optimizing both titles for the new hardware with higher resolution and improved visuals.

The gameplay in these titles remains true to their roots but offers new ways to experience classic Sonic adventures. Sonic Generations allows players to switch between the “classic” side-scrolling Sonic of the ’90s and the “modern” third-person style inspired by the 2000s. Levels are remakes of iconic zones, such as Green Hill Zone and City Escape, reimagined with new visuals and gameplay twists.

Shadow the Hedgehog’s story features two gameplay styles per level — side-scrolling and 3D. Shadow’s unique powers include Chaos Control, which freezes time and manipulates objects, and access to “Doom Powers” that unlock new attacks, significantly altering his platforming experience. The upgraded version introduces smoother graphics, refined controls, and new abilities for Shadow, making it a must-play for fans of the franchise.
